Wireless broadband firm ChinaTel Group Inc. says it will deploy a high speed wireless broadband telecommunications network across 29 cities in China by the end of this year.

Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei has delivered the CDMA networks in 30 major Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Suzhou, Ningbo, Tianjin and Urumqi, to China Telecom.

Ningbo Bird, once the top Chinese mobile handset maker, has released its semi-annual report which says the company realized revenue of about CNY1.29 billion in the first six months of 2008, a year-on-year decrease of 39.32%, but a loss of CNY22.08 million in net profit.
