Wireless Financial Results Plummet For China's Hurray

Chinese wireless value-added services company Hurray (HRAY) just announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008 and said unsurprisingly that total revenues were only USD12.8 million, a decline of 3.7% quarter-over-quarter and 12.4% year-over-year.

China Mobile's (CHL) Sichuan branch has completed the mobile communications coverage in 21 cities, 451 towns and 4389 villages that were affected by the May 12 Wenchuan earthquake along with the 492 temporal residences and China Mobile will invest about CNY5.6 billion for post-disaster reconstruction.

MII: Earthquake Brings CNY3 Billion Loss To China's Communications Industry

According to China's Ministry of Information Industry, the May 12 earthquake has caused a direct economic loss of up to CNY3 billion to China's communications industry with 3833 telecommunications bureaus and 25735 mobile base stations affected, 24496 kilometers of communications lines damaged and 117112 communications poles broken.
