Tencent Develops Chinese Mobile Security Sector With Kaspersky

Chinese Internet company Tencent and the security solutions provider Kaspersky have reached a cooperation agreement to jointly develop the Chinese mobile phone security sector.

Under the agreement, Tencent's wireless business department will team with Kaspersky in the research of advanced mobile security ideas and technologies. Meanwhile, Kaspersky's mobile security and anti-virus functions will be integrated into Tencent's QQ security assistant product, to provide more professional mobile security services to Chinese users.

Tencent said that as a well-recognized service provider in the mobile Internet sector, it has accumulated rich experience in smart security management and it has established a primary mobile security distribution structure with the QQ security assistant as its core. One of the world's leading information security solutions providers, Kaspersky has been long committed to providing information security services to users. The cooperation between Tencent and Kaspersky is expected to promote the development of the entire mobile phone security industry.

Commenting on the cooperation with Tencent's wireless business department, Zhang Lishen, general manager for Kaspersky Asia Pacific, said that Tencent's openness and user-oriented attitude during the cooperation gave him a impression. Kaspersky is glad to cooperate with Tencent to offer more professional security services to the hundreds of millions of mobile phone users in China.

Liu Chengmin, director for Tencent's wireless business department, said that Kaspersky is the world's top anti-virus solutions provide. Its credibility and mature technologies are the solid foundations for the cooperation between the two parties. By introducing Kaspersky's strong technologies in the anti-virus field, Tencent believes that they can provide more professional and complete mobile phone security services to users.
