China Unicom Saw Net Increase Of 75,000 3G Users In March 2010

Chinese telecom operator China Unicom has published its operating statistics for March 2010.

According to the report, China Unicom's 2G users reached 147.263 million by the end of the month, a net increase of 873,000 compared with the previous month; and the number of its 3G users increased by 759,000, including 23,600 new 3G wireless network interface card users, to 4.824 million.

For fixed line business, the company lost 274,000 fixed line phone users during the month and the total number of its local phone users decreased to 101.838 million. The number of its broadband users reached 41.504 million by March, a net increase of 1.198 million users over February 2010.
