China Mobile Gets Rid Of Executive

Following rumors and allegations of improprieties, Zhang Chunjiang has been removed from his positions at China's top telecommunications firm.

In a statement, the board of directors of China Mobile Limited announced that the company has been notified by its ultimate controlling shareholder, China Mobile Communications Corporation, that due to alleged serious financial irregularities, Zhang has been removed from his positions as both secretary of the firm's CPC Committee and vice president of CMCC.

As of November 2009, China Mobile had the largest number of mobile users in mainland China, with over 518,045,000 users.
