2009-11-09 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

China Telecom Beijing branch has announced plans to increase its subsidies for users who buy its 3G mobile phones from the previous 30% to 70%.

According to the new policy, users who deposit a designated sum of money in their mobile phone accounts and promise to reach the monthly minimum consumption limit will gain China Telecom's eSurfing 3G mobile phones for free. Their deposited money will be returned as mobile phone fees month by month in two years; and 70% of their promised monthly minimum consumption will also be returned to users in two years as subsidies. The new policy was brought into effect on November 6, 2009.

China Telecom said the company has launched more than a dozen types of eSurfing 3G mobile phones for users, including those produced by Samsung, Nokia, LG, Dopod, Coolpad, K-Touch, and Huawei.
