Mobile Market, China Mobile's online mobile phone applications store for its OPhone and other devices, has published a notice stating that it started to charge for software and game products downloaded from its website from November 1, 2009.

The notice also made a correction to its previous report and stated the charging area would not be limited to its users only in Guangdong province.

To grab the opportunities in China's mobile Internet market, China Mobile developed its own OMS mobile phone operating system and established the OMS-based online mobile phone applications store, Mobile Market. Launched on August 17, 2009, this online store allows mobile phone software developers to publish their products in the developer community on the website. Users can pay to download software and China Mobile will share the profits gained from the software with developers.

Prior to this, these applications were offered to users for free.
