China Netcom Shanghai Website To Close On August 31

China Unicom Shanghai has published a notice stating that from August 31, 2009, the former website of China Netcom Shanghai, Sh.cnc.cn, will stop providing services.

According to the company, a transition period will be available from then on and people who try to visit the China Netcom Shanghai website will receive a prompt that links to the main website of China Unicom.

China Unicom Shanghai told local media that to provide more convenient full-business services to users, its unified portal website, Sh.chinaunicom.com, was launched on August 18, 2009. Meanwhile, all the information and self-service functions on the previous website of China Netcom were relocated to the portal website of China Unicom.

China Unicom Shanghai also pointed out that the login method of fixed line and broadband users on the website has changed and their passwords will be the last six numbers of their payment accounts.
