China Unicom To Invest CNY40 Billion In Henan

Chinese telecommunications operator China Unicom has signed an investment plan with the government of Henan to invest CNY40 billion in 3G and broadband network construction in the province in the next five years.

Under the agreement, China Unicom will invest CNY40 billion in information communication infrastructure construction in Henan, including 3G network construction, broadband network coverage expansion, network capacity improvement, and network structure optimization.

At the same time, China Unicom Henan will invest CNY3 billion in 2009 to build 1863 WCDMA base stations, including 787 base stations in Zhengzhou. By the end of this year, there will be over 7,000 3G base stations in the province.
