Chinese Mobile Messages Sent During Spring Festival Doubled In 2009

China Mobile Beijing branch says the total number of multimedia mobile messages sent via China Mobile's networks during the one week Spring Festival holiday in January 2009 nearly doubled that of 2008.

According to the statistics provided by the China Mobile Beijing branch, from January 25 to January 31, 2009, the daily average number of short messages sent by China Mobile's mobile phone users in Beijing reached 125 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.24%, while the daily average number of multimedia messages sent was 9.617 million.

At the same time, China Mobile Beijing says during the seven days of the Spring Festival holiday, over 67 million multimedia messages were sent via China Mobile's networks, an increase of nearly 100% compared with that of the previous year.
