ZTE Delivers China Telecom's CDMA Networks In 100 Cities

2009-01-22 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

As one of the providers that had gained the largest share in China Telecom's first CDMA tender, the Chinese telecommunications equipment maker ZTE has announced that it has delivered the CDMA base stations in 100 Chinese cities of 24 provinces to China Telecom, including those in Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Shijiazhuang and Sanya.

The company says it totally delivered over 11,000 base stations to China Telecom and the delivery rate reached 91.3%.

Liu Peng, vice general manager for ZTE's wireless business, says that relying on its seven years' CDMA network construction experience, fast and complete project system management and the close cooperation between ZTE and China Telecom, ZTE will continue to race against time and try to complete the network construction in all the 157 cities of 24 provinces around the Spring Festival holiday that starts next week.

In the first CDMA network tender of China Telecom, ZTE gained about one-third of the construction share of new base stations. The company also held a leading position in other important aspects, including value, the accumulated number of base stations, and the deployed number of large and medium-sized cities and provinces.
