2009-01-16 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei has delivered the CDMA networks in 30 major Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Suzhou, Ningbo, Tianjin and Urumqi, to China Telecom.

In addition, the local networks in six cities, including Beijing, Wuxi and Xiamen, are undergoing optimization and all the main projects are expected to be completed before the Spring Festival holiday begins at the end of January 2009.

As of December 20, 2008, Huawei had completed the first batch of 20,000 base stations at the speed of 1,000 per month. So far, Huawei has completed a total of 14,000 base stations and 310 core network equipment in three months, achieving the annual delivery goal set by China Telecom.

Zhao Ming, vice president for Huawei's wireless product line, says that the company is glad to deepen their cooperation with China Telecom and to contribute to China Telecom's nationwide mobile network deployment. With their advanced technologies and fast delivery capacity, Huawei will continue to help China Telecom to develop its mobile communications market in the fast-growing Chinese market.

According to the result of China Telecom's first CDMA network tender, Huawei is responsible for the CDMA network construction in 36 large and medium-sized cities in China.
