Chinese telecommunications operator China Unicom has announced that after launching online enquiry and payment functions for mobile phone users across China, the company has now opened a fixed line payment function that is available in 10 northern Chinese cities and provinces, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Shandong, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Henan.

From now on, the 120 million China Unicom fixed line users in these 10 cities and provinces will be able to complete business enquiry, mobile phone recharge, local phone payment and broadband payment via the Internet instead of going to China Unicom's business halls.

According to a representative from China Unicom's e-channel center, with a bank card that has an online payment function, users can complete the payment on China Unicom's official website 10010.com. The entire process should take no more than three minutes and the access will not be limited by time or region.
