China Comservice Sales Up 37.5% In H1 2008

China Communications Services Corporation Limited has released its interim report, which says in the first six months of 2008, the company's revenue increased by 37.5% to CNY13.629 billion and its net profit increased by 11.3% to CNY567 million.

According to the report, China Comservice made CNY5.895 billion with its telecommunications infrastructure service in the first half of 2008, a year-on-year increase of 9.7% and accounting for 43.3% of its total revenue. The major income sources for this service of China Comservice are still the three major telecommunications operators, including China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom. Of those, revenue contributed by businesses from China Telecom accounted for 41.9% and that from China Mobile and China Unicom accounted for 16.7%.

For other sectors of China Comservice, business process outsourcing services increased by 83.7%, accounting for 44.6% of its total revenue; and applications, content and other services increased by 35.0%, accounting for 12.1% of its total revenue. In addition, IT application services such as system integration and value-added voice services such as call centers and colorful back tones services also experienced rapid growths in the first half of 2008.

In the first half of 2008, the restructuring plan for China's telecommunications industry was formally released and China Comservice predicts that in the next two to three years, telecommunication operator's 2G and 3G network construction, expansion and optimization will provide a good development environment for telecommunications infrastructure service. At the same time, network maintenance, distribution channels and value-added services will bring huge commercial opportunities to the company.
