Guangdong Telecom Invests CNY5 Billion To Renovate IPTV

2007-12-28 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Guangdong Telecom says it will invest another CNY5 billion to expand IPTV services and will publish the bidding results before the end of the year.

Guangdong Telecom began to deploy IPTV in the second half of 2004. It later tested the IPTV system of mainstream manufacturers in early 2005 and arranged a bidding for the IPTV program at the end of 2005, which benefited about 100,000 users.

At present, IPTV is the main source of income for Guangdong Telecom. Therefore, the company has decided to further enlarge its investment on the program and promote it to more users.
