Shanghai Mobile Launches 150 Number Section

2007-11-02 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Following the launching of 159 and 158 number sections, Shanghai Mobile has recently launched a number 150 prefix number section to meet increasing demand.

Shanghai Mobile says that the launch of the new number section is purely to ease the shortage of number resources and it has nothing to do with upcoming 3G businesses.

A representative from Shanghai Mobile says that different from China Unicom who has just initiated the 156 prefix number section, Shanghai Mobile's 150 number section doesn't target specific user groups and users of the new number section can shift among the company's different brands of GoTone, Shenzhouxing and M-Zone according to Shanghai Mobile's existing rules.

Some local media previously reported the 15 and 18 prefix number sections are for 3G use, but this has been denied by the mobile company.
