China Unicom To Issue 156 Number Section

2007-08-15 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

China Unicom (CHU) will begin issuing the 156 prefix number section from September to ease the number shortage of its GSM network.

Pang Wei, deputy general manager of China Unicom's Comprehensive Business Department, says that different from the 153 number section that mainly targets users of the C network, the 156 number section would be used by the high-end users of China Unicom's G network. Pang said that China Unicom would also launch a series of packages for the 156 number section.

China Unicom has issued a notice on the issuance of the number section next month, but it has not disclosed much detail of the fees.
