China Unicom Shakes Up Marketing Departments

2007-01-29 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

China Unicom disclosed at its internal work meeting that it would further divide its marketing department into a G Network Marketing Department and C Network Marketing Department, respectively.

According to a representative from China Unicom, China Unicom will dissolve the group's current marketing department and instead set up G network marketing department and C network marketing department which will be responsible for developing clients and carrying out marketing activities, respectively.

Local media says that China Unicom is doing this change to strengthen the marketing of its CDMA service, which apears to be making some headway against GSM in China.

Following the headquarters' adjustment, each of China Unicom's provincial branches will also subdivide their own marketing departments, and the entire transformation is expected to be completed around the middle of February.
