159 Number Section Initiated In Guizhou

2006-12-04 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Guizhou Mobile has begun to adopt the 159 number section in order to help ease the pressure of its growing user base.

Li Bo, director of the Marketing Department of Guizhou Mobile, says that they began to use the 159 number section in the Bijie area in Guizhou as early as April 2006, and with the increase of mobile phone users they have to adopt the number across the entire province now.

Guizhou Mobile also says that it will launch the 158 number section at an appropriate time next year to meet the user increase.

China now has more than 443 million mobile phone users, which means that every three people in the country owns one mobile phone. In order to meet this increase of new users, China Unicom and China Mobile earlier this year launched the 153 and 159 number sections, respectively.
