Beijing To Build Fiber Optic Cables For Olympic Broadcast

China Netcom and Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Company have reached a cooperation agreement to work jointly to provide high quality live broadcastis of the Olympic Games in 2008.

According to the agreement, CNC will be responsible for transmitting the public signal from the match venues in Beijing and all other regions to the International Broadcasting Center, where it will be further broadcast to the world.

Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Company is the designated Host Broadcaster of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. It is a joint venture company established by Olympic Broadcast Services (Host Broadcaster of the IOC) and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

No financial terms of the agreement have been disclosed.
