Beijing Mobile To Upgrade Client Service Number

2006-06-06 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Beijing Mobile has disclosed that it will upgrade its service hotline 1860 and 1861 to a unified number 10086 on June 18.

10086, which combines the functions of 1860 and 1861, will be providing services like call fee inquiries and service consulting. It will be used concurrently with 1860 and 1861 until September 17, 2006, after which the two older numbers will be terminated.

A representative from Beijing Mobile says the upgrading of the service numbers is intended to strengthen China Mobile's advantage in providing client-friendly services, and after 1860 and 1861 are incorporated into 10086, the corresponding service will also be upgraded, including simplifying voice response and the IVR menu.

China Mobile's service hotline 1860 was first established in 1998.
