China Unicom Adopts New SP Contract

2006-04-10 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Chinese mobile service provider China Unicom has formally launched a new contract with its service providers in order to further regulate and optimize the telecom market.

China Unicom requires each of the SPs to sign the new contract before April 30, 2006.

Compared with the old version, there are twelve main changes in the new contract. One of the changes calls for fines for those SPs who send unwanted spam messages to users' phones.

In addition, China Unicom charges an additional CNY5000 per month from the SPs for resource use.

Finally, China Unicom is also requiring each of its branches and client service centers to carry out a new policy that any department that first receives users' complaints should be responsible for solving them.
