Xiamen Unicom Takes Measures Against Illegal Short Messages

2006-03-20 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Xiamen Unicom has worked out several measures in an effort to block the illegal sending of wireless short messages.

Xiamen Unicom says that it will halt the services of mobile phones that send more than ten short messages within one minute and are proven to be sending junk messages.

A representative from Xiamen Unicom says that the group sending function of ordinary mobile phones will not be affected as they are different from that of a group sending "machine", or dedicated computer used by wireless spammers to send bulk messages.

Xiamen Unicom has also launched a Short Message Firewall to filter such illegal information as gambliong and pornography information.

The company has also opened a new complaint platform for users to report these illegal messages.
