Nokia Wins Henan Mobile's GSM/GPRS Deal

Nokia (NOK) has signed an agreement worth US$170 million with Henan Mobile to help expand the province's GSM/GPRS network.

Under the agreement, Nokia shall provide GSM/GPRS wireless and core network equipment and a large amount of solutions needed for the expansion, which is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2006.

Huang Shu, deputy general manager of Henan Mobile says that the expansion will enable Henan Mobile to provide excellent mobile service to its 1.7 million users and strengthen its market position in Henan region.

Since 1995, Nokia has been the main supplier of Henan Mobile's GSM expansion.
