Chinese RFID Market Has Entered An Incubation Period

2006-01-19 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

China's RFID market value reached RMB1.8 million in 2005, when statistics for the sector were formally initiated. It is expected that in 2006, the RFID market scale will reach RMB2.3 billion and hit more than RMB5.3 billion by 2009.

With the huge potential of RFID already being acknowledged in China, the technology has been attracting more attention from the industry and government. More efforts will be made for RFID's commercial use this year.

Reports at the end of 2005 showed that many Chinese enterprises were wary of using the tag technology because of lack of business prospects and market clarification, but new rules and government promotions should help the sector grow.
