During the three-day New Year holiday last weekend, mobile operators in Beijing have taken in an estimated CNY15 million through value-added services.

According to Beijing Mobile, Beijing Unicom and Beijing Communications Corporation, about 150 million short messages were sent on December 31, 2005 and January 1, 2006, which are calculated at CNY0.1 per message.

In particular, the one million or so Little Smart users sent more than 1 million short messages during the holiday weekend.

Many users quoted in local media said that they had not planned to send any message for the occasion, but after they received greetings from others, they had to make a courteous reply.
