China RITT/CTTL Utilize Spirent 3G Location Test System

2004-10-25 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Spirent Communications, a wholly owned business group of Spirent, and China RITT (Research Institute of Telecommunications Transmission) have announced that China RITT/CTTL (China Telecommunication Technology Labs) will utilize the Spirent UMTS Location Test System (ULTS) and UMTS Automatic Test System (U-ATS) to verify the performance of GSM and W-CDMA handsets.

Spirent's ULTS carries out advanced testing of GSM and W-CDMA mobiles that incorporate Assisted GPS (A-GPS) location technology. ULTS will enable CTTL to test the accuracy and reliability of A-GPS-equipped mobiles in the lab prior to widespread commercial deployment. In addition, Spirent and CTTL will collaborate on the development of China A-GPS test standards.
