Huawei Selects Performance Technologies' Signaling Products To Connect Telecom Networks Between China and Thailand

2003-11-03 by ChinaWirelessNews.com Editor | Print | Email Email

Performance Technologies recently announced that Huawei Technologies has selected the Performance Technologies SEGway Inline SS7 Protocol Converter Platform to provide connectivity between telecom networks in China and Thailand.

SS7 signaling, the network function responsible for tasks such as setup of calls, roaming and short messaging, presents significant challenges to International telecommunications service providers due to the many different worldwide variants of SS7 and their need to interoperate. Performance Technologies offers protocol conversion capabilities between most every major variant of SS7 including ANSI, ITU-T, ETSI, Japan (NTT and TTC) and China.

"Performance Technologies' SEGway Signaling Inline SS7 Protocol Converter Platform provided Huawei with seamless and transparent protocol conversion between the China and Thailand networks," said Panyao, service & software product manger at Huawei Thailand. "By using this complementary product with our solution, we are able to deliver a quality product in a very quick time to market."

"Many worldwide service providers like Huawei are looking for ways to quickly and cost-effectively break into new international markets," said Martin McFadden, vice president of Asia Pacific sales for Performance Technologies. "Our SEGway SS7 and SS7 over IP Signaling Products offer an ideal solution to these challenges. We look forward to a continuing relationship with Huawei."
